Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT)

Single Patient Negative Pressure Wound Therapy

Is a medical modality that promotes wound healing through controlled suction. It is an established effective treatment for open wounds, both acute and chronic. It significantly fosters wound healing, vascularization, formation of granulation tissue and wound closure, while reducing risk of infection and amputation.

PragmaVAC

Is an innovative mechanically activated, single patient and user-friendly system for NPWT. It generates average of -125 mmHg. PragmaVAC does not rely on electrical power or battery power. As a single patient device, it reduces the risk of cross contamination and does not require maintenance. It reduces overall medical cost and offers and economical NPWT solution.

Science

PragmaVAC has proven efficacy for large wounds, both traumatic wounds and diabetic foot ulcers. In this study: “Validation of a Manual Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Device (PragmaVAC®) for Acute and Chronic Wounds – A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial”, the World Journal of Surgery, 2022 Dec, PragmaVAC demonstrated superior effectiveness compared to standard gauze dressings in treating full-thickness open wounds. Patients using PragmaVAC had significantly accelerated wound healing by 2.4 x times faster healing, while reducing the number of dressing changes required for healing by 88%.
